INTO PIECES

Our imagination and internal sensitivity let us see ordinary places from a completely different point of view. Gray and unpleasant spaces become a world waiting to be explored, mysterious and full of interesting patterns and details. Your imagination is the key to this reality, allowing you to travel through time and space to discover untold stories.
Don’t wait and discover this world.
As mysterious stories always taste the best when unknow. I do not want to spoil your journey through book. If you are the type of person who likes to know more about photobooks before buying, you can reveal information and sample images below.
The images presented in this photobook connect and interlace on many planes. Starting from patterns and shapes, with unspecified dimensions; through unknown interiors; ending with the imaginary and authentic stories they present. Stories about earth, wind, water; about the harsh working conditions while fighting with unyielding material in buildings made of metal, on cliffs tens or even hundreds of meters high. Despite the dangers hiding everywhere, the man has continued mining and perfecting the techniques of extracting the stone for centuries.
The places I visited while taking the photographs create two contrasting worlds.
The first are deeply mysterious basalt mines. They are simply terrifying, with their enormous structures capable of crushing millions tons of rock into dust. Constructions reveal a harsh surrounding, unbearably hot in summer and icy cold in winter. Empty, impenetrable spaces, accompanied only by the sound of creaking metal and the dust covering every surface.
The second are much more systematic and controlled granite quarries. This is where giants weighing several dozen tons are brought to the surface and then sliced. Tireless machines and huge devices on many levels work precisely, being cogs of a huge mechanism.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m hobby photographer who is crazy about analog film. At the begining of my journey I shot with digital cameras, after being amaze by color reversal film, I switched to analog cameras. Since then my approach to photography and perception of the world evolved. I started getting my hands on black and white photo albums by authors such as Michael Kenna, Josef Hoflehner and Paul Hart. I went through many diffrent processes, scaning devices, equipment, films, chemistry etc. Currently I’m shooting mostly black and white images using half frame, different medium format and large format cameras. My journey still goes on and currently I’m focused on two new projects: Everyone's neighborhood and Mountain spirit.
